There
are many variations of the sheer trend, from totally transparent to
basically opaque. As with many of these ‘trendy trends’ I tend to lean
towards the more subtle incarnation of it. This black dress with its
sheer lace panels is a perfect way to wear the style without going the
whole hog. Sheer panels in less risqué places (like shoulders, arms,
below the knee etc.) are a great way to try out this style if you are a
little nervous of flashing too much flesh.
I
found this dress hiding in the racks at Red Cross Bentley rather late
into the Restyle game. It’s a perfect fit, shape and style for me… but
it’s black. If only it were red or pink or yellow or an actual colour,
then I wouldn’t have hesitated to buy it. As it is I took it home anyway
because I love style so much.
I
don’t wear all black very often, so styling this dress was slightly
challenging. The lace, high neck line and little bow are quite fussy, so
I wanted to give this outfit a bit of edge and introduce some much
needed pattern. Enter my leopard flats, trusty camel hat and novelty
maple leaf brooch! This is a great casual weekend outfit that I happily
wore while reading magazines and drinking multiple coffees at my
favourite café.

Lovely dress, Hannah. It's demure and sexy at the same time. Perfect for date night too (as well as coffee), I would think:) You look beautiful, as always and Liz did a wonderful job with the photos. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, I wouldn't probably look at the dress if it were pink, red or yellow! Black, yes. :)
