Cardigan Time

Look at me! I'm wearing a cardigan! Hooray for layers! I was invited to go on a little cruise around the river the other night on my friends boat, and I have to say I was very excited to rug up. With the breeze whipping off the water it was just cool enough to warrant an extra layer and I took an absurd amount of time deciding which of my jackets/coats/wraps/cardigans would get it's first outing of the year.

This long mustard cardigan won in the end, it is a new purchase and I was keen to try it out and see how I could style it. I picked it up in Esperance, the op shop in question was selling everything for $2 in order to move out the old stock. Needless to say I got quite excited and brought home a bag of goodies! I LOVE the colour of this cardigan, and I'm so pleased it matches my sweet 60's mini skirt so well.

I really love this outfit and it will be easy to 'winter-ize' once it gets colder. Just add black tights and a hat! (That's pretty much how I plan to winter-ize all my summer outfits!). This cardigan is super comfy and will be a handy one to cuddle up in.

Life Recently

I'm heading down south this weekend for a volleyball competition, but I did promise to post more regularly, so I'm taking a leaf out of Le Fanciulle's book and hopefully this will tire you over until Monday...

Recently I've been...

Eating far too many white chocolate and macadamia cookies

Cooking burritos for a super easy and delicious dinner party

Drinking warm milk with rum and honey (my German housemates sure-thing flu remedy)

Watching back to back episodes of Arrow to catch up before the boyfriend returns home

Shopping at op shops (surprise!)

Buying sunglasses (I have a problem... but brand new Pradas for $45 is too good to resist right?!)

Wearing leather... weirdly obsessed with my leather skirts and shorts recently. Where's autumn when you need it?

Reading
Harry Potter for the millionth time

These are a couple of snaps from my recent camping trip. Half way through our 8 hour journey home we stopped to check out Wave Rock, it was magnificent!

One Hundred

Red and Green should never be seen... right? It's something I've had in my head when getting dressed since I was a kid. Along with something about blue and yellow being not-so mellow, or something very clever like that. But breaking those tried and true styling rules seems to be the aim of the game lately, particularly when it comes to unusual colour combinations. I think red and pink is my favourite unorthodox combo at the moment, but this green/blue and red outfit is a close second. Aside from throwing the colour chart out the window, I’m also ticking off one of my style-resolutions and wearing items from my wardrobe in different combinations. Good work Hannah!

The last time I wore this shirt I painted on bright red lips as well, something about the festive safari-esk pattern is just calling out to be worn with a bright bottom. This red leather skirt probably isn’t the most obvious choice for summer, but it’s surprisingly comfortable and perfectly fitted for my shape. I’m also hanging out for Autumn so have been wearing my boots quite a bit in a bid to will it cooler. It’s not working.

This is my one hundredth blog post! How exciting! I love writing and taking pictures for my blog, but I must admit I've fallen off the wagon a little bit lately and I do apologise. After my Christmas and New Years break I haven't been able to get back in to a rhythm with my blogging, but I'm going to sort that out and start posting far more regularly. I promise!

Dino Loving

A few years ago I did a bit of modelling as a favour for a friend. It was hardly a chore as I got to lounge around in beautiful jewellery and have my hair and make up done, but at the end of each photo shoot my friend always insisted on gifting me with some of the jewellery. This is how my love of Dinosaur Designs came about. As soon as I saw the brightly coloured and fluidly shaped resin necklaces and bangles I was smitten, which is quite unfortunate for my poor credit card!

The necklace I’m wearing with this outfit was my first piece of Dinosaur Designs and is my favourite. Over the years I have collected more and more Dino pieces, including some excellent home wares. They have sales every now and again which is when I snap things up. As much as I love my clothes and accessories to be cheap and cheerful, there is something so special about wearing a good quality, beautifully designed and made piece of jewellery.

This outfit is actually pretty unusual for me, no pattern and dark muted colours, how weird! I’m wearing my new boots with extra thick socks so I can stretch them a bit. It feels great to be back in boots again, my feet look perpetually terrible because of beach volleyball, so it’s nice to be able to hide them away!
