So it turns out Monochrome doesn’t specifically refer to black and white, it’s just an outfit that is made up of one colour or shades of one colour. I only learnt this recently and was quite keen on putting together an outfit all in one block colour (like red or blue!). But this dress jumped out at me from the sale rack at Red Cross Willagee and I knew it would be perfect for today, even if it is traditional black and white.
I LOVE this dress. It’s a perfect cut and fit that I can easily wear for work or on the weekend. It’s vintage and beautifully made in Australia, which is always a bonus in my books. The white trim and button details give it a bit of a 60’s mod look, which I love and I tried to play up a bit in these photos.
Massive white cat eye sunnies and a beehive might be a little bit too on the nose for some, but I felt so good wearing this outfit. Normally the mod-esk dresses I come across in op shops are too short for me, as micro minis were all the rage back then, so it’s nice to have a vintage dress that channels the mod look but it still long enough for me to wear comfortably.

ReplyDeleteThanks Vicki, this photo location is so great. It's under the old Fremantle traffic bridge, there is a little wooden ramp that you can walk along over the water, although my photographer was terrified and didn't want to go too far out haha!
DeleteSo beautiful! I love this spot, I may have to track it down for a future shoot! The dress is stunning on you, I love the button detail on the back too. You can tell we all got into today's prompt! :)
