Happy New Year

Oh my goodness it’s the last day of the year! 2014 has been an excellent year for me, both in the blog world and the real world so I thought I’d be very self-indulgent and do a little wrap up and share my favourite outfits from throughout the year…

Blog world highlights
Being part of Restyle 2014! (definitely top of the list!)
Making some awesome new blogger friends (hey Vicki, Jenelle, Demelza, Steph, Joc and Jac!)
Meeting amazing people in the Perth fashion community (Renee, Claire, Simone and the gorgeous girls from On A Whim to name a few)
Reaching 200 posts and finally starting to get some regular blog followers and commenters, every single comment means the world to me so thank you thank you thank you!

Real world highlights
Camping in Esperance, holidaying in Bali, Rotto and Margaret River and quick trips to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne to visit family and friends
Playing indoor, beach and indoor beach volleyball with the best bunch of girls ever (and playing in a few debauchtious comps in Busselton, Bunbury and Collie)
Watching our own home be built before our eyes
Making new friends (I’m looking at you Lizzie, Josh and Jaimie) and spending lots of quality time with the oldies (Tash, Hels, Kirbs, Matty and the list goes on)
Celebrating five years of togetherness and seven years of friendship with my number one person, Luke.

I hope you have a SUPER FUN time tonight, wear something sparkly and drink something bubbly, that’s my plan any way! Happy New Year, see you in 2015!

On the 12th Day of Christmas...

Happy Boxing Day!! It’s stinking hot, I’m slightly hung over and definitely still full from yesterday’s celebrations. I thought about braving the sales for about 2 seconds but then decided against it, it’s all too hard. I have a few things to do today and I need to look reasonably respectable, so this is my best attempt at classy but comfy.

I’ve been wearing these culottes so much, they are the best thing I’ve bought in ages and very versatile, plus I could totally do the splits in them  if I wanted to!

This is my 12th outfit of Christmas by the way! I hope you have enjoyed my festive dressing over the past month. Now get off your computer/laptop/tablet/phone and go rifle through your Christmas gifts and eat some left overs!

(just incase you didn't believe they were culottes!)

It's the Happiest Day of the Year!!

Merry Christmas fantastic readers! I hope you are having a wonderful day where ever you are. I’m spending Christmas with my lovely family; eating, drinking, jumping in the pool, opening presents, playing (and winning!) scrabble, drinking some more and eating even more… it’s going to be perfect!

This is what I’ll be wearing (at least while I’m not in the pool!), a loose cotton dress and some easy accessories. Have a magic day!

Traditions

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod SANTA IS COMING! In years past my Christmas eve tradition has been to spend the day with my friends at the pub and the night with my family at church, then sleep over in my childhood bedroom and wake up (slightly hung over) with excitement at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning. As much as I love waking up at my parents’ house, digging through my stocking with glee and sneaking peaks at the Christmas tree before mum and dad get up it’s time for a bit of a change.

This year the boyfriend and I are going to make our own Christmas Eve traditions and I couldn’t be more excited. Today we're cooking waffles and bacon and drinking champagne for breakfast, maybe we'll go for a swim at the beach (it’s bloody hot!) or find some where pretty to drink coffee, I'm just so excited to spend the day with my number one. After almost 6 years together it’s about time Luke and I made some of our own holiday traditions!

Church with the family tonight is non-negotiable though, so this is what I’ll be wearing in order to blend in with all the angels in the nativity play.

Happy Christmas Eve!

December Baby

December isn’t only about Christmas in my family, my mum, aunty and uncle are all born within a week of Christmas, so we have many birthday celebrations to attend as well as the usual holiday parties. Today is my lovely mum’s birthday (happy birthday moose!), so as per tradition we are going out for breakfast and then will head to my folks house where mum will sit on a lilly pad and allow people to bring her gifts and cake.

Just kidding, it’s more of a chaise lounge.

Mum’s birthday celebrations definitely count as part of my 12 Outfits of Christmas, but I decided not to dress too festively today. I’m wearing this new vintage dress that I picked up in Melbourne for the first time. I loooove this type of sleeve, it is so flattering for your arms (I fear that makes me sound like an old lady).

My best friend and I are holding a stall at the Melville Markets on the 10th of Jan and I plan to sell loads of my clothing and accessories, so one of my Christmas holiday projects is to do a thorough clean out of my wardrobe. These Seed wedges are currently in the maybe pile. I got them for $14 in the after-Christmas sales last year and I’m trying to decide whether I should keep them or not. They are very pretty but I don’t know if I get enough wear out of a pair of pale yellow wedges… hmmmm

Holidays HELL YEH

It’s my last day of work for 2014!! I’m so flipping excited for my Christmas break. I am really looking forward to having some time off but not going anywhere. Whenever I take annual leave I always feel like I need to go somewhere exciting, overseas, interstate, up north or down south, it is so rare to actually have time off work and to stay at home. I’m planning to do lots of baking, catch up on my sewing, head down to the beach, drink lots of coffee and hang out with my family, only 7.5 hours of work to get through before it all begins!

In honor of the last day of work I am wearing a very festive outfit. It's going to be stinking hot today, so I had to change my outfit plan at the last moment. This cotton shirt and skirt combo is hopefully going to be MUCH cooler then the original vintage polyester dress I had planned to wear. I have so many excellent vintage summer dresses, but unfortunately a lot of them are nylon/rayon/polyester of some description, so as soon as temps creep above 30 degrees they are really uncomfortable to wear.

I'm also wearing my little Christmas tree brooch which was a gift from my mum, I love this thing so I need to get as much wear out of it as I can in December!

Skirt: Red Cross op shop $5
Top: On A Whim
Brooch: Gift
Shoes: Oppourtunity Knocks op shop $3

P.S Happy Birthday Aunty Maria! Can’t wait to see you in a few days! xx
